STANDARDS OF DRESS
Centre College of Kentucky has established a tradition of achievement spanning two centuries. This tradition, coupled with student and faculty pride in Centre, demands that students be well dressed on the campus. The keynote to a smart and correct wardrobe is simplicity. Cleanliness, neatness and appropriateness in dress with identify you as a Centre student.
MEN:
1. In the classrooms, laboratries, chapel, convocations and the two upper floors of Sutcliffe Hall, men may wear slacks, shirts with collar, shoes, and socks. These are the minimum standards.
2. In the dining commons the standards stated in paragraph 1 apply on all occasions when service is cafeteria style. When seated service is provided, coats and ties are additional requisites.
3. In the library, on the lower floor of Sutcliffe Hall, and on the campus, men may wear such sports attire as shots instead of slacks, but the rest of their attire should e approximately that expected in the classroom.

WOMEN:
1. In the classrooms, laboratries, chapel, convocations and Sutcliffe Hall, regular school clothes are required.
2. In the dining commons the standards stated in paragraph 1 apply on all occasions when service is cafeteria style. When seated service is provided hose and dress shoes are a requirement, while dresses and matcheing ensembles are recommended to fit in with the attire of the men. 
3. In the women's residential quadrangle sports attire is allowed. Women may wear shorts en route to the tennis courts if covered by a long coat.
