Bestial Reflections, As It Were
Woodson Smith

My problem, said the mermaid, is that
sex is just not satisfying.
Not so mine, said Magritte’s mermaid—
blessed with a reveral of the susal
physical arrangement—but I do miss the
embraces
Io lowed in the distance, coughing; the air
quality index was rather poor.
The unicorn poses an interesting dilemma—
innocent, milkwhite; and yet there’s
that erect horn, that goatbeard, and he’s
attracted to virgins
Well, said the sphinx, I am in a bit of a
briny, as they say, cucmber—no man will
have me (my claws are somewhat sharp),
nor will the lion—my breasts don’t tempt
him, and I’m not sufficiently furred.
Aye, said the man; shivering and contemplating
the Boccaccian alter, indeed. After a quick
prayer or two, I’m for retiring.
The fox in the henhouse marked it all, and
watchers by the sea noted a slight
disturbance as a large mollusk closed
itself upon the lower quarters of
Venus Aphrodite and, with a thlop,
dove into the depths.
